HOD’s Message

In the present, globalized competitive scenario, it becomes imperative for business to have “corporate citizens” to meet the demand of the variety of industries.

I personally believe that those who are aspiring to become true “corporate citizen” will need to acquire specialized knowledge, skills and attitudes.

Here, at the School of Management Studies (SOMS) we are concerned in identifying the talents and shaping the personality into “corporate citizenship” with a practical objective of inculcating specific set of requisites through focused process of “pedagogic innovations”. This process is driven in a participatory learning mode of creativity and innovation with an amalgamation of academic and co-academic activities which generates opportunities to learn and to demonstrate prescribed professional skills. This process develops an understanding and appreciation of economic and societal realities through variety of practicing interactions. In this unique holistic process of learning environment develops our students to act as practitioners and budding consultant for business and conducting research into the functional areas and interrelated disciplines.

SOMS is a center of excellence for competency development which has been rated as one of the best and leading in management education. The set goal of the SOMS is to prepare aspirant to become successful “Corporate Citizen”.

The goal is backed-up by continuous experience sharing by the successful business leaders through variety of events. Also through industry guest lectures and mentoring from academicians and industry professionals.

Pedagogic innovations focus on live projects, case studies, presentations, and role plays. The emphasis is also on the holistic personality development of students through industrial visits, management fests, sports, and excursions. In addition, at the SOMS, besides the classroom interaction the students are also involved in the Industry-Institute Interface Programs (IIIP) to develop and sharpen managerial attitude, skills and knowledge (ASK) by participating and organizing variety of events.

I personally invite and welcome you all for an enriching and rewarding experience by joining hands to create the world of biz-academia excellence at the campus.
