Information Technology
ITS is comprised of five units which work together to manage and support information technology: The Office of Information Technology; End User Experience; Infrastructure Services; Information and Security Policy; Research Computing; and Student Solutions and Enterprise Reporting. Each unit has a specific focus to help support the college in its efforts to move the forward.The Office of Information Technology is an integral part of the college leadership team while overseeing IT in the entire Information Technology at ITS in support for missions.
End User Experience focuses on engagement with faculty, students and staff to ensure service quality and ease of use while minimizing time to resolution when incidents occur. Infrastructure Services provides computing, virtualization, operating system, telecommunication, Network and co-location support to enable IT services to meet customers' needs.
Information Security and Policy oversees the information security program to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information resources and provide security services to all of ITS Research Computing focuses on engagement with campus researchers to provide the high-performance computing, storage, scientific computing support and other resources they need to advance. Student Solutions and Enterprise Reporting focuses on engagement with customers in the academic operations of the college to understand their IT needs. Enterprise Reporting engages with campus partners to enable them to harness data to measure performance and predict future needs.

Relationship Management
Relationship Managers work with their assigned areas to better understand business need, suggest viable alternatives, explain any additional support costs that may apply, and provide guidance on submitting a business case justification for requests outside of the standard support model.

The IT@ITS End User Experience Unit focuses on engagement with faculty, students and staff to ensure timely, quality service and ease of use while minimizing time to resolution when incidents occur.
Identity and Access Management
- Coordinates identity assignment and role-based access across the campus.
- Provides consistent campus-wide means of managing and identifying constituents for granting access to campus resources and ensuring individual privacy.
- Provides assistance in integrating new applications and services into the campus identity and access management infrastructure.
Information Assurance
- Facilitates the development of campus information security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures; and consults on information security compliance with campus policy, contractual requirements, and federal, state and local law.
- Facilitates the stewardship of campus Information Assets including the proper classification, sharing and handling.
- Assesses risk to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of campus Information Assets according to privacy, law and regulatory concerns; and in the procurement of new Information Technology software or services.
- Develops and facilitates information security awareness programs and tools in collaboration with Data Stewards, IT Security Officers, and other Information Technology stakeholders.
Security Services
- Provides a full suite of activities, including: vulnerability scanning, reporting, and notification; security assessments, reviews, and consultations; incident response and remediation; audit response coordination; second- and third-tier technical support; and support for data center firewalls, security software and campus-wide anti-malware software.
- Manages security systems, including endpoint security management, central log collection and archive, SIEM, IPS, policy management for firewalls, vulnerability scanners, web application security scanners, and secure file sharing.

Facilities, Systems and Operations
- Offers system and application monitoring and the Outage Notification Process for the data centers housing ITS's production infrastructure systems.
- Provides service management and project management for infrastructure-related and customer components and efforts.
Infrastructure Services
Administers Windows, Mainframe and UNIX systems as well as enterprise storage assets including SAN, NAS and backup hardware and associated management software.
Telecommunications
The Networks and Telecommunications team is responsible for the design, installation, testing, activation, configuration, and maintenance of the telecommunication systems and data networks on the West Lafayette campus, including wired and wireless infrastructure and connectivity between campus and the general internet. The team offers departments a basic package of voice and data services and provides premium options by request.
Research Computing
Thin Client Technology Computer Labs
A Thin Client is a computer that runs from resources stored on a central server instead of a localized hard drive. Thin clients work by connecting remotely to a server-based computing environment where most applications, sensitive data, and memory, are stored.
