Government jobs are the most common dream of engineers after completing their bachelor's degree from the best engineering colleges.


Some of the most common reasons behind the dream of government jobs are job security, high salaries, good promotion level, respect in society, and the biggest reason is low-stress level at the workplace.


Here I have listed some of the preferred government jobs for our engineering society.


UPSC (state public services/ civil services)


UPSC is considered the toughest exam in India as it consists of a total of 14 yo 16 papers and holds the record of the toughest interview session in it.


This exam has the prestigious posts of government services like IAS, IPS, IES, IFS, and IRS and these posts are considered as the top class government jobs with a red light government car.




Getting a job through PSU is one of the biggest dreams of engineers and they have to clear the GATE exam to get selected by the PSU companies.


The biggest difficulty for the engineers to get selected by PSU is the gate score they have to score more than 90% percentile to get an interview call by PSU.


The top companies which give placements through GATE are IOCL, GAIL, ONGC, BHEL, etc.


Defense Services (Navy, Airforce, Army, etc).


Defense services are one of the most respectful and prestigious jobs in our nation. Defense services bring many benefits like health, government quarters, and other government facilities.


Defense jobs in technical sectors or as coastal guards bring the highest respect and salary to the person.


PO (Probationary Officer) banking sector


PO is a highly regulated job in the banking sector and numerous students prepare for the exam PO and getting a job as PO in a government bank is the dream of many students.




Getting recruit by the government bodies like ISRO, DRDO as a post of the scientist is the dreams of Indian students.


These jobs are highly demanding and provide you the allowance to numerous features of government and make you an example in society.


Railway engineers or SSC/CGL
